Southwest Utah Canyons

Southwest Utah is a fairyland of unbelievable and varied scenery. The colors, the formations, the lighting, the seasons all come together in this amazing locale to present the eye with visual experiences unknown in other places. It truly must be experienced to be believed. The handiwork of nature, with the eroding power of moving water and the pressure and folding of tectonic plates and mountain-building forces combine in ways only an image can fully express. The lighting effects of sunrise and sunset on already-red rocks, reflecting on other red rocks, gives the impression of glowing heat. Add to these water reflections from double-reflection red light from red sunsets and you have a visual experience that is quite unexpected and wonderful, such as the River of Fire or Bryce sunset above.
